One of the greatest jazz tenor sax voices in our time Eric Alexander has teamed up with virtuoso jazz guitarist Frode Kjekstad in an amazing quartet that features modern hard bop at its best!

Frode Kjekstad / Eric Alexander Quartet´s latest release Stars Aligned (2026) has been called "among the most satisfying and rewarding straight-ahead jazz records to emerge in recent years." (Glenn Astarita; All About Jazz).

Kjekstad and Alexander has previously recorded two albums together, A Piece of the Apple and New York Time. The quartet plays original compositions by Kjekstad & Alexander, as well as some of their favourites from The American Songbook.

Saxophonist Eric Alexander is known as one of New Yorks leading jazzmusicians, and considered as one of the greatest tenor sax players of our time. After his studies at William Patterson University he has been part of the New York Jazz scene since the 90’s where he regularly plays at well-known clubs such as Smoke, Smalls, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, sharing the stage with some of the world´s leading jazz musicians.

Eric Alexander has published more than 40 albums in his own name, on labels like Criss Cross, Milestone, and High Note Records. In total he has appeared on more than 100 records. In addition to that, Eric Alexander has worked with jazzlegends such as George Coleman, McCoy Tyner, Cedar Walton, Harold Mabern, Ron Carter and many many more.

Frode Kjekstad is a Norwegian guitarist, known from his work and albums with several American and European musicians. Known for his charismatic and virtuoso style, the internationally recognized and critically acclaimed jazz guitarist Frode Kjekstad has appeared at legendary places like Ronnie Scotts in London and Smoke Jazzclub in New York City. He has published several albums in his own name, among them “A Piece of the Apple” and “New York Time” together with some of New Yorks foremost jazz musicians such as Dr. Lonnie Smith, Mike LeDonne, Joe Farnsworth, Byron Landham and Eric Alexander.

English keyboardist Roy Powell has been active on the international jazz scene for several decades and has performed with and recorded with a great variety of jazz artists from Europe and USA. He has an extensive catalogue as band leader, and is also a favoured sideman. His recordings and international touring both as a pianist and organist has put him on the jazz map as one of today´ s jazz giants with a wide palette and personal sound.

Frederik Villmow is a German jazz drummer, based in Oslo, Norway. He has worked with a variety of musicians as Carl Winther, Nicole Glover, David Kikoski, Alexander Claffy and Chris Potter. His albums “Live in Copenhagen”, and “Motion” and “Momentum” received great critics from the International press. He has been stated as an “excellent drummer by all standards” (Adam Baruch) and has played concerts all over Europe and in New York.
