Over the last 20 years, guitarist Mike Moreno has built a name as one of the leading voices on his instrument; he has been a part of touring bands led by Joshua Redman, Robert Glasper, Stefon Harris, Lizz Wright, Nicholas Payton, Aaron, Parks, Me’Shell N’Degeocello, Kurt Elling, Jason Moran, James Francies, and Gretchen Parlato amongst others.

For this show, Moreno debuts a new project featuring the first pianist from his band in College, Jesse Chandler. Chandler has carved out one of the most unique places in the indie rock and singer-songwriter world as a multi-instrumentalist, orchestrating the sounds of now iconic bands, Midlake, and Mercury Rev. He was also a massive collaborator on singer- songwriter, Madison Cunningham's, latest album, Ace, along with being her only bandmate on her last world tour, playing keyboards, clarinet, flutes, bass clarinet and multi effects. He will bring his orchestration talents to Moreno's newest original music, reuniting their collaborations from 20 years ago. Some of this new music was written specifically for this project.

Moreno has received high critical acclaim recording 7 albums, and has toured extensively worldwide with his own band. Nate Chinen in Jazztimes Magazine describes, “There are many other guitarists out there pushing towards a modern ideal, but none with the precise coordinates that Mike Moreno has charted.” His latest recorded project, Standards From Film, comes from a history and harmony course he designed and taught on Zoom during the Pandemic Lockdowns, and is now included in the Academic Curriculum at Manhattan School Of Music.
