The Purcell School Chamber Soloists, directed by baritone horn virtuoso Mike Cavanagh, present a programme of French music spanning the late Romantic and early 20th Century periods. Featuring works by Louise Farrenc, Gabriel Fauré, Darius Milhaud, Charles Gounod, Jacques Ibert and Francis Poulenc, the concert explores Romantic lyricism, Baroque and folk influences, and the wit and originality of Les Six.
