About the Event
A Steinway artist with two degrees and a current faculty position at The Juilliard School, pianist Isaiah J. Thompson has worked with jazz greats like Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the John Pizzarelli Trio, Cécile McLorin Salvant and Christian McBride, among others.
Isaiah already has a considerable list of prestigious awards and accolades to his name, including the 2018 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, 2023 American Pianists Awards, and Cole Porter Fellowship in Jazz. He also contributed to the Golden Globe–nominated Motherless Brooklyn soundtrack.
As a jazz musician and performer, Isaiah explores themes of faith, musicianship, race and humanity, and aims to convey his personal experiences and passion for the music through his artistry.
