Trio Concept

Now deep into its second decade, Trio Concept is driven by a shared desire to explore the infinite creative possibilities of the piano trio. It begins with Mieczysław Weinberg’s Piano Trio in A minor, an impassioned work completed soon after the end of the Second World War and intended as a companion to his friend Shostakovich’s recent Second Piano Trio. Dvořák broke new ground with his ‘Dumky’ Trio with the confrontation of what he called ‘happy and sad’ music in each of its four movements.
