Stott has had a distinguished career as a soloist and chamber musician, best known for her long‑standing partnership with Yo‑Yo Ma, with whom she performed and recorded for over four decades. Alongside her performing career, she is a respected teacher and Professor of Piano at the Royal Northern College of Music, with a strong commitment to supporting emerging musicians. In 2024, she was awarded the King’s Medal for Music, recognising her outstanding contribution to musical life in the UK.

About Kathryn Stott

Kathryn Stott has been passionate about music since the age of five and has enjoyed an international career spanning over four decades, performing in many of the world’s leading concert venues. Renowned both as a soloist and collaborative pianist, she is celebrated for her wide-ranging repertoire and deeply expressive musicianship.
Her extensive discography reflects her commitment to diversity in programming, with repertoire spanning from the core canon to less commonly performed works. Notably, her recordings of the complete solo piano music of Gabriel Fauré have received particular acclaim, and her championing of the composer was recognised by the French government with the award of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
