LA-based singer-songwriter Berhana's slippery soul is perfectly captured on his 2016 self-titled debut EP, a release that exudes confidence even at its most introspective moments. Imbued with sounds and traits from his childhood, there's no denying the expressive musicality on ‘Berhana,’ which heralded the arrival of an intriguing talent that has continued to capture peoples’ attention for the past decade. Since then Berhana has released three acclaimed studio albums and exposed the world to the richly intimate songs captured across his catalog. Most recently he performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk with members of the Ethio Cali band paying homage to his roots with Ethiopian jazz pianist Kibrom Birhane, who is the musical director for Berhana’s upcoming Blue Note debut. As a special anniversary celebration, Berhana will arrive at Blue Note in Los Angeles and New York City to perform two special headline shows featuring full band performances of the songs from both the EP and his catalog to date.
