About the Event
I Fagiolini, founded by Robert Hollingworth during his student years in Oxford, celebrates its 40th anniversary season with a programme spanning the gamut of the internationally renowned British solo-voice ensemble’s repertoire. Its opens with a pristine jewel of Renaissance sacred polyphony, Victoria’s setting of Alma Redemptoris mater for eight voices, before diving deeply into secular madrigals from Elizabethan England and Baroque Italy. Thrilling contemporary works by Joanna Marsh and Adrian Williams lead to pieces from Daniel-Lesur’s sublime Song of Songs cycle and a closing masterclass in cabaret cool from the ‘Little Beans’.
