This year marks the fourteenth edition of the Serious Series. Having curated the programme for the first time in 2025, Anna Kaluza and Jan Roder have once again succeeded this year in showcasing the diverse facets of free jazz and improvised music – naturally, at the very highest level.

They are committed to presenting music that gives voice to the unheard, sidesteps conventions, brings together seemingly incompatible elements and transcends boundaries. Free improvisation, contemporary compositional concepts, references to the jazz tradition and electro-acoustic soundscapes come together once again this year in a diverse programme.
