About the Event
Composer and saxophonist Kenny Garrett first emerged as a formidable and distinctive voice on the international jazz scene in 1978. From the outset, he displayed an undisputed aptitude for emotive melodic phrasing, a lyrical quality that quickly made him a sought-after collaborator for some of the genre's most legendary figures. Garrett’s early trajectory saw him sharing the stage and recording with titans such as Woody Shaw, Freddie Hubbard and the prolific Art Blakey. Notably, his tenure with Miles Davis further cemented his status as one of modern jazz’s most influential living masters.
