Nikki Yeoh presents her new trio with BBC Young Jazz Musician 2022 Ewan Hastie on double bass and rising London drummer Miranda Radford.
Exploring Nikki’s original compositions, the trio will explore different themes across each Nucleus Session. The second half opens up into a jam session for the open-minded, inviting adventurous musicians to sit in and audiences to experience the creativity, spontaneity and vibrant musical exchange of a live jazz session.
A celebrated pianist, composer and bandleader, Nikki Yeoh brings together two of the most exciting young players on the UK jazz scene. At just 24, Scottish bassist Ewan Hastie has already worked with the likes of Tommy Smith, Denys Baptiste, Fergus McCreadie and Nikki Yeoh, while 19-year-old drummer Miranda Radford is quickly making her mark on the London scene, having performed at Love Supreme, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and Dizzy’s Jazz Club in New York.
