The Freedom Jazz Sextet brings together six outstanding musicians for an electrifying journey through the golden age of hard bop. Inspired by the legendary sounds of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Cannonball Adderley, Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Lee Morgan and Joe Henderson, the band delivers music that swings hard, grooves deep and never lets go.

Leading the front line are three distinctive voices:

Vincent Mardens (tenor & soprano sax), Federico Milone (alto sax) and Elly Brouckmans (baritone sax), creating rich harmonies, fiery exchanges and powerful ensemble passages rarely heard on today’s jazz scene. Behind them, an exceptional rhythm section featuring Vincent Bruyninckx (piano), Sal La Rocca (double bass) and Jan De Haas (drums) provides the perfect foundation: swinging, interactive and relentlessly driving.
