Emile Berlinerblau, is a young talent emerging on the New York jazz scene. New York born, and DC raised, Berlinerblau has always been surrounded by a myriad of artistic influences. At the age of ten, Emile began his musical journey under mentorship of renowned bassist, Micheal Bowie. During his training he gained invaluable skills and insights, allowing him to sow the seeds for a successful career. During high school, Berlinerblau attended the Interlochen Arts Academy under the instruction of Josh Lawerence. Throughout Berlinerblau's burgeoning career he has performed with an incredible array of artists such as Terri Lynne Carrington, Patrice Rushen, Orrin Evans, Billy Childs, Anthony Tidd, Joe Block, Frank Lacy, Josh Lawrence and more. He has also performed at “Blues Alley” jazz club with Yvette Spears and Wycliffe Gordon, and multiple times at Smalls with Josh Lawrence and Frank Lacy. Now in his final year, Berlinerblau is studying at the Manhattan School of Music. During his first year, he secured a gig with the JC Hopkins biggish band, performing every Saturday night at the historic Minton's Playhouse. He has now gone on to host his own shows at the club as a band leader. During the summer of 2024, Berlinerblau collaborated with star poet, Jasmine Mans, on her innovative poetry show and residency at Express Newark. The ideal of collaboration is paramount in Berlinerblau’s concept and artistic process. Berlinerblau has recently started a rock band “Suits”, which has already started to tour the east coast and has a debut EP on the horizon. You can find him playing locally at clubs such as The Django, Birds, Maureens Jazz Cellar, Close Up etc.
