About the Event
Trumpeter, vocalist and composer Audrey Powne and saxophonist, vocalist and producer Hannah-Mae Birtwell (birty) first met playing together in the horn section of Nubiyan Twist, instantly bonding over their shared love of groove, dance music and soul.
Having lit up stages in some of the leading horn sections in the UK and further afield, the two have been plotting a way to join forces again. Now they're coming together for this special Late Late Show Upstairs at Ronnie's, bringing their own music, plus a few choice covers, to the stage.
Audrey's distinctive blend of jazz, soul and improvisation meets Hannah's infectious fusion of jazz and electronic grooves, for a special night from two of London's most exciting, emerging female musicians. Joining them are fellow Nubiyan Twist alumni Luke Wynter on bass and Finn Booth on drums, alongside Lyle Barton on keys.
