About the Event
The programme centres on the world premiere of Mayako Kubo’s “I am in between”, a musical setting of two poems by the Palestinian writer Mosab Abu Toha. War, destruction and displacement are the lot of millions of people in our time, who lack material, emotional and social security. The works by Mark Andre, Kaspar Querfurth and Allain Gaussin transcend this backdrop: Mark Andre refers to the ash cross, to the biblical statement that man is made o dust. Kaspar Querfurth’s “cold pastoral” is a journey through the ashes of a zero hour. Allain Gaussin’s “Par delà…” describes the hope that remains in this hour. Finally, in Clara Iannotta’s “echo from afar (ii)”, time itself becomes a resonant space for unheard-of, poetic and otherworldly contemplation.
