Piena writes songs for overthinkers. Her biggest dream is to write a perfect love song. Until then, she writes about longing, self-deception, and the darker sides of the psyche. A singer, songwriter, and aspiring multi-instrumentalist from Amsterdam, she grew up with classical music, trained as a jazz vocalist, and now makes pop music. At first, that was confusing, but now she feels most at home in the in-between space; her sound is both analog and electronic, her lyrics are often as light-hearted as they are tragic, and you never know for sure where the delusion ends and the irony begins.
