Julia Fischer Quartet

Four esteemed soloists, united by their shared love of chamber music making, bring their deep collective experience and acclaimed artistry to the Julia Fischer Quartet. They return to Wigmore Hall with a programme rich in powerful expression and creative brilliance. Haydn’s Op. 20 No. 5, highly valued since its first performance in 1772, sits alongside Bernard Herrmann’s Echoes for String Quartet, described by its composer as ‘a series of nostalgic emotional remembrances’. The second half is devoted to the last of Dvořák’s chamber works, begun in New York in 1895 and completed later that year in Prague.
