ECHO Rising Stars: Javus Quartett
About the Event
The energetic ensemble performs Bacewicz's String Quartet no 3 and Shostakovich's much-loved eighth string quartet, alongside a new work by Oscar Jockel.
After intensive work on Shostakovich with German violinist Eberhard Feltz in 2017, ECHO Rising Stars Javus Quartett said a new musical world opened to them. In this concert, they perform his String Quartet No 8, built on a motif derived from Shostakovich's own name. The programme also features Grażyna Bacewicz’s String Quartet No 3, noted for its balance, clarity, and structural precision, alongside a new work by former Berlin Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Oscar Jockel.
Founded in Salzburg and now based in Vienna, Javus Quartett 'combine the tradition of the musical city of Salzburg with everything that a young quartet has to offer today' (Jury of the Hans Gál Prize, 2022).
