A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, where he studied jazz piano with Wojciech Niedziela, Tomasz continued his musical development at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, studying with renowned pianist and educator Nikki Iles.
His performances have taken him to leading venues, festivals, and cultural events across the UK, Europe, and the USA, including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, 606 Club, Toulouse Lautrec, Boisdale Canary Wharf, Wigmore Lates, Tate Modern, and the British Parliament. He has also performed at international events including the London Jazz Festival, Yamaha Music Live, and the Jazz FM Discovery Show.
As a composer and bandleader, Tomasz has released three albums of original music with his own projects, including Groove Razors, and most recently the Tomasz Zyrmont Quartet. The quartet brings together some of London’s finest musicians, featuring Sean Khan on saxophone, Ben Hazleton on double bass, and Filippo Galli on drums. Together, they perform Tomasz’s original compositions, combining lyrical melodies, contemporary jazz language, and energetic improvisation.
The quartet’s latest album, “London Manifest”, released by Soliton, reflects Tomasz’s artistic journey through London and his contemporary approach to jazz composition. The album received its official premiere in January 2026, followed by its live on-air premiere on London Music Radio during Tony B’s Jazz Incorporated show. Since then, it has received positive reviews, regular radio airplay, and media coverage, including a feature and interview in Jazz Forum, one of Europe’s leading jazz publications.
Throughout his career, Tomasz has performed with internationally respected artists including Alex Hutchings, Tony Kofi, Yaron Stavi, Piotr Wojtasik, Adam Bałdych, Wojciech Pilichowski, and Francesco Mendolia. In 2025, he was awarded the honorary distinction “Merit for Polish Culture” by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, recognising his contribution to promoting Polish culture internationally.
