About the Event
British pianist, songwriter and bandleader Reuben James is redefining modern soul & jazz music.
Raised on Birmingham's vibrant jazz circuit, James' virtuosity calls upon his Jamaican musical heritage, British soul, funk and contemporary R&B; alive with freedom and energy that is unmistakably and uniquely his own.
His musicianship has placed him alongside titans such as Sam Smith, Tom Misch, Disclosure, Joni Mitchell, Roy Ayers and Brandi Carlile; but James' own music is where his identity comes fully into focus.
A virtuosic pianist and instinctive bandleader, Reuben James is a master of transforming songs into the spiritual; alchemizing spontaneous and transcendent passages of time, to the chagrin of audiences around the world.
With over 90 million streams and a growing international audience, Reuben James is carving out his own lane — an unmistakable sound where soul, jazz and R&B collide for his first ever headline US shows.
