Linley Hamilton Quartet
About the Event
Linley has been a part of the Irish music scene for over thirty-five years and since then he has juggled a career as a trumpet player with being a BBC Jazz Broadcaster and an educator. There have been many career highlights in the past with significant performances or recordings with Paul Brady, Van Morrison, Foy Vance, Andrew Strong and the Commitments to name a few, but he is working just as hard as ever these days and is celebrating success with his own recent albums ‘Taylor Made’ and ‘In Transition’, ‘Making Other Arrangements’, ‘For the Record’ and ‘Ginger’s Hollow’, as well as three albums with the celebrated John Donegan Sextet.
In February 2014, Jazz UK dedicated 3 pages of their magazine to profiling him and his continued work in the UK. In 2019, Linley and his wife Maggie established the celebrated jazz venue Magy’s Farm, which overlooks the Mournes, and has featured concerts by a number of Grammy winners including keyboardist Jim Beard, also the Larry Goldings Trio and Trio Grande, from the US. He has headlined Cork Jazz Festival twice, and continues performing his own music as an international touring musician.
