Trinidad-born Vanessa Haynes is a vocal powerhouse to be reckoned with. Cutting her teeth as a backing vocalist for artists such as Van Morrison, Haynes became frontwoman of legendary jazz-funk outfit Incognito in 2008, touring with the band for over 14 years. Haynes' impressive vocals have also led to collaborations with icons such as Chaka Khan and James Mason. With a voice one critic described as "combining the sting of Chaka Khan with the resonance of Aretha", Vanessa has wowed audiences in some of the world's most iconic venues. She has been a featured soloist at several BBC Proms and at London Jazz Festival's opening gala, Jazz Voice. Vanessa has enjoyed multiple collaborations with conductor Guy Barker, both on concert hall and jazz club stages.
