Sam Jewison Sings Jimmy Van Heusen
About the Event
Fresh from New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center – where he received the 2026 Julie Wilson Award for Rising Talent – Renaissance Man in a Jazz World Sam Jewison celebrates Frank Sinatra’s songwriter-in-chief: Jimmy Van Heusen.
Such classic songs as Come Fly with Me, Ain’t That a Kick in the Head, All the Way, My Kind of Town, and Call Me Irresponsible all feature in this show exploring one of the closest collaborations in American popular song.
Working with legendary lyricists including Sammy Cahn, Johnny Burke, and Johnny Mercer, Van Heusen produced hit after hit for Ol’ Blue Eyes. Their friendship has also become the stuff of legend, partying hard from East Coast to West, playing constant practical jokes, and sharing a passion for aviation.
Tonight, Jewison casts his acclaimed interpretation of the Great American Songbook over that partnership of total creative trust, which gave rise to some of the best songs and recordings of Sinatra’s golden career.
