Eleventh Hour Jazz Orchestra is a London-based contemporary big band co-led by bassist Chris Diamand and pianist Lorenzo Bellini. Bringing together some of the brightest emerging musicians from the UK and Europe, the ensemble performs original music that combines the richness of the jazz orchestra tradition with a fresh, contemporary perspective.
The orchestra's repertoire explores a wide range of colours and influences, from shimmering textures and lyrical melodies to driving swing, modern grooves and expressive improvisation. Drawing inspiration from both the great big band composers and today's creative jazz scene, Eleventh Hour Jazz Orchestra presents music that is sophisticated, distinctive and accessible, showcasing the full sonic potential of the large ensemble.
Royal Academy of Music graduates Chris Diamand and Lorenzo Bellini share a vision of creating a platform for a new generation of composers and improvisers. Their collaboration brings together complementary musical backgrounds and a shared passion for large ensemble writing, resulting in a distinctive artistic voice that balances carefully crafted compositions with the spontaneity and energy of live performance.
