Brooklyn-based violinist and composer Arun Ramamurthy creates strikingly beautiful music at the meeting point of South Indian classical tradition and contemporary jazz. Drawing from Carnatic music - the highly developed classical tradition of South India, built around intricate melodies, rhythms and improvisation - as well as North Indian Hindustani forms, Ramamurthy’s original compositions explore migration, heritage and cultural connection.
