Get ready for church! Ein großes Gospelkonzert mit herausragenden Stimmen, einem kompletten Chor und voller Liveband! Am 1. November bringt Ingrid Arthur mit ihren Gospel Voices of America die ganze Kraft der amerikanischen Gospeltradition in die Zig Zag Hall. Gemeinsam mit Keith Tynes, Arif Vega, Ronnel Mügge und Davy Muhizi präsentiert sie ein Programm, das von großen Gospelklassikern über Spirituals bis hin zu Soul reicht. Und als besonderes Highlight steht an diesem Abend auch Arthurs eigener 100% Gospel Choir auf der Bühne! Ein großes Ensemble, das die Solistinnen und Solisten mit mehrstimmigem Chorgesang unterstützt und die Musik des amerikanischen Gospels in ihrer ganzen Bandbreite erlebbar macht.
Die in Gainesville, Georgia, geborene Ingrid Arthur wuchs mit der amerikanischen Gospeltradition auf und arbeitete im Laufe ihrer Karriere mit einigen der bedeutendsten Stimmen des Genres, darunter Cissy Houston, Tramaine Hawkins, Shirley Caesar und Dorothy Norwood. Mehrere Jahre tourte sie mit den Golden Gospel Singers, bevor sie später als Mitglied der Weather Girls internationale Bekanntheit erlangte. Seit 2002 lebt Arthur in Berlin, wo sie 2007 auch den 100% Gospel Workshop gründete.
Mit den Gospel Voices of America bringt Arthur nun all diese musikalischen Erfahrungen zusammen. Fünf außergewöhnliche Stimmen, ihr eigener Gospelchor und eine große Liveband sorgen für einen Abend, bei dem es nicht nur ums Zuhören geht: Mitsingen, Klatschen, Tanzen und Aufstehen sind ausdrücklich erwünscht! Get ready for church! A major gospel concert featuring outstanding voices, a full gospel choir and a complete live band! On November 1, Ingrid Arthur brings the power of the American gospel tradition to the Zig Zag Hall with her Gospel Voices of America. Together with Keith Tynes, Arif Vega, Ronnel Mügge and Davy Muhizi, she presents a program ranging from great gospel classics and spirituals to soul music. And as a special highlight, Arthur's very own 100% Gospel Choir will also take the stage! A large vocal ensemble supporting the soloists with rich choral harmonies and bringing the full range of American gospel music to life.
Born in Gainesville, Georgia, Ingrid Arthur grew up surrounded by the American gospel tradition and has worked with some of the genre's most important voices, including Cissy Houston, Tramaine Hawkins, Shirley Caesar and Dorothy Norwood. She toured for several years with the Golden Gospel Singers before gaining international recognition as a member of the Weather Girls. Arthur has lived in Berlin since 2002, where she founded the 100% Gospel Workshop in 2007.
With the Gospel Voices of America, Arthur now brings together all these musical experiences. Five outstanding voices, her own gospel choir and a full live band promise an evening that's about much more than just listening: singing along, clapping, dancing and getting on your feet are all very much encouraged!
