David McAlmont: How to Sing Yes

How to Sing Yes is a musical memoir told through story and song. David McAlmont traces the music that formed him, from childhood encounters with Top of the Pops and the great voices of Shirley Bassey and Nina Simone to teenage years singing in church in Guyana, and eventually to a recording career of his own.

In stripped down intimate format, McAlmont reimagines songs that shaped his musical life alongside highlights from his own catalogue. Moving between indie, pop, soul, jazz and gospel, How to Sing Yes explores how a singer finds his voice — and how the songs we love become part of who we are.
