Fragile earth — Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Studium Chorale + Christianne Stotijn

A mass for the universe

With Broze Aarde (Fragile Earth), the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble (Netherlands Wind Ensemble) pays musical tribute to our fragile planet, based on the poetry collection Pillage by South African writer Antjie Krog. Christianne Stotijn and chamber choir Studium Chorale sing about humanity’s relationship with the earth.

For this concert, Dutch composer Fant de Kanter has written brand new music that pushes the boundaries for every musician of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble – with custom-written parts, unique instrumental combinations, and diverse musical styles that transition seamlessly into one another. The result is an exciting artistic adventure: a spiritual and urgent performance about humanity and the climate that provokes thought, yet also offers comfort, strength and hope.
