Luke Marzec and The Neighbours

Earlier this year he performed as lead singer and saxophonist alongside Pick Withers of Dire Straits at PizzaExpress Live at The Pheasantry, and now returns with his own band and expanded live show.

Following a winter residency in Totnes, Devon, workshopping new material, Luke brings this evolving project to London, presenting new compositions alongside songs from his debut record.

Luke Marzec is a British-Polish singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends soul, jazz and pulsing grooves into a distinctive and emotionally rich sound. At the centre of his work is his rich, booming and soulful voice, anchoring a musical style that sits somewhere between the laid-back warmth of Dope Lemon and the timeless depth of Ray Charles.

Marzec studied classical and jazz saxophone under Mornington Lockett, at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, at which time he was also a member of the National Youth Wind Ensemble of Great Britain, then widely regarded as one of the world’s leading wind ensembles. He later studied Philosophy at the University of York, performing with the University of York Jazz Orchestra and forming his first band, The Marzec Group, featuring musicians including Lazy H and bassist Twm Dylan. He went on to continue his musical training at Trinity College of Music, London, studying jazz saxophone at master’s level.

With more than a decade of experience as a songwriter and producer, Marzec has earned support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 2 and Los Angeles tastemaker station KCRW, while his releases have accumulated millions of streams online. In his early years as a producer he further developed his craft through writing sessions with Charlie Perry, Maverick Sabre, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Jazzanova. He featured on a track by German electronic artist Johannes Brecht, later remixed by Adriatique. In 2023, together with Lazy H and Samb, he recorded an experimental electronic jazz album titled Rotary Perception under the name Loose Cables.

After a series of EP releases beginning with 'Chances' (2018), Marzec released his debut album Something Good Out of Nothing in 2025, written and recorded in his “spiritual hometown” of Buckfastleigh, South Devon. The record marked a defining step in his evolution as an artist and led to the formation of his live project Luke Marzec and the Neighbours, who have since built momentum through a monthly residency in Totnes developing new material with a growing audience.

He has also performed as lead singer and saxophonist alongside Pick Withers' (original drummer of Dire Straits) band Pick's Pocket, at PizzaExpress Live at The Pheasantry in London, and has appeared at Henley Festival, Boardmasters Festival and We Out Here Festival. With further appearances including Sidmouth International Jazz & Blues Festival and a return to PizzaExpress Live with his expanded band, Marzec continues to establish himself as a distinctive voice on the UK’s contemporary soul and jazz-influenced scene.
