London Symphony Orchestra: Half Six Fix – Prokofiev

Kick-start your evening with a 60-minute Half Six Fix concert. Introduced by the performers, with screens in the hall to bring you closer to the action. Excerpts from two of Prokofiev’s operas, inspired by Italian comic operas: swift melodies tell a quirky, dynamic story, despite the composer’s grimmer reality in Stalin’s Soviet Union. A curated sneak peek into Prokofiev’s theatrical tales of averted arranged marriage, romantic trickery, alcoholic revelry and fateful comedy, this Half Six Fix is a guaranteed mid-week pick-me-up. Gianandrea Noseda, Principal Guest Conductor of the LSO, is a master in Italian and Russian operas, and so it is only fitting that he take listeners through this Russo-Italian musical marriage.
