TRIO GASPARD — Works by Ravel, Debussy, Schubert, and Beamish

The cycle of day and night provides the inspiration for Trio Gaspard’s latest program—from Lili Boulanger’s depiction of a spring morning in D’un matin de printemps to the serene evening mood of Schubert’s Notturno. English composer Sally Beamish’s Trance, written for the ensemble in 2023, evokes the meditative state between times. The concert closes with Beamish’s arrangement of Debussy’s La Mer, which blends musical times of day with colorful images of nature.
