Simply Dan are an eleven piece line up of experienced musicians, who have performed with a diverse mix of artists nationally and worldwide. They are united in their love of the music of Steely Dan - faithfully harnessing the jazz, pop and R&B influences of the now legendary Walter Becker and Donald Fagen sound. Playing a selection of hits picked from the iconic 70s albums such as Can't buy a Thrill, Pretzel Logic, The Royal Scam, Aja, and Gaucho, there are tunes for everyone to enjoy. With many of their members working as session musicians in London and the south east and performing with a diverse mix of artists nationally and worldwide, Simply Dan are an incredible band who faithfully capture the sound of Steely Dan. The band was started in late 2016 when members Mark Roadnight, Mark Claydon and Roger Evan decided to work on a band that that could deliver the beauty and virtuosity of Steely Dan while still portraying the fun of a stage show.
