About the Event
Atmospheric Ghosts Lights II is a piece for containers, instruments, objects, and electronics, composed/performed by Heather Frasch and Parallax.
This piece is part of a series of works initiated by Frasch that explores the physical properties of empty containers (resonant frequencies and filtering). In this piece, real-time electronics are used to amplify the natural phenomena, which are then extended through the sounds of instruments and objects. These sounds and ideas melts together with Parallax´ own sound world - often based on acoustic sounds emulating electronic sounds, and vice versa.
HEATHER FRASCH, is a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic concert music, performer/composer (flute, laptop/electronics & sonic objects), and creator of interactive sound installations and digital instruments.
PARALLAX has a wide open approach to improvisation, and draws on a broad range of influences in their music – jazz, folk, electroacoustic, minimalism and noise. Through the use of extended techniques and found objects they seek to eliminate the traditional roles of different acoustic instruments, and explore the fringe areas of music.
