About the Event
Born in Barcelona in 1964, Jorge has always been on the cutting edge of all his musical pursuits, picking up his first vibraphone at just 14, and having years of percussion experience before that. Alongside this experience brings an extensive collaborations list, having recorded over 180 pieces with renowned jazz musicians throughout his career.
His sound encapsulates both the haunting and the upbeat, inspiring sonic possibilities of the vibraphone, and often reaches for both within moments of each other, moving from sombre soundscapes to upfront solos with ease.
Alongside him in his quartet, Jorge plays host to the award-winning Robert Landfermann on bass, bringing a further layer of deep experience, and Milena Casado and Cornelia Nilsson on trumpet and drums respectively - two younger musicians who bring a fresh perspective to the quartet's sound.
