About
Trumpeter Jeremy Pelt celebrates his 50th year with a special European tour featuring music from his latest project, Woven. The album fuses traditional aspects of 21st-century jazz with the possibilities of electronic synthesised sound, showcasing Pelt’s artistry as both an instrumentalist and composer.
Across mostly original compositions, Woven explores new dimensions in jazz, balancing innovation with emotional depth. Pelt’s trumpet moves through electronic textures and shifting soundscapes, alongside a quintet that brings together acoustic and electronic elements in a fluid musical conversation.
A pre-eminent voice in contemporary jazz trumpet, Jeremy Pelt has built a distinguished career as a bandleader and collaborator, performing and recording with artists including the Mingus Big Band, Cedar Walton, Frank Wess, Vincent Herring and Roy Hargrove’s Big Band. He has released ten albums as a leader and has been recognised by DownBeat and the Jazz Journalists Association, including five consecutive Rising Star trumpet awards.
